The Nail Files: Shattered Glass

It’s the South Korean nail trend that’s taking the world by storm. If you haven’t heard of the shattered glass manicure by now,¬†we’d be really surprised. Developed by salon owner Eunkyung Park, the technique involves using iridescent cellophane pieces to create an effect that looks like broken glass. Pretty rad, we must admit. If you’re dying to try the trend, here’s how to do it in a few easy steps:

1 – Prep your nails. This means moisturizing your cuticles and putting on a base coat.

2 –¬†Choose a color. Darker polishes create a more dramatic look whereas lighter polishes create a more ethereal one.

3 – Cut up tiny little pieces of iridescent cellophane. If you don’t have the time, you can always buy pre-cut pieces online.

4 – Using a tooth pick, place the tiny pieces onto your nail in a scattered manner.

5 – Layer a top coat on and you’re all set!
