How To: Throwing A Dinner Party

Summer’s a good time to kick back, relax, and enjoy life with a few friends. And what’s a better way to do that than with a dinner party? Round up a few good buddies, set the table, and breathe in that fresh air. We’ve rounded up our favorite dinner party settings to give you a few decorating ideas alongside our recommended tips:

1 – Lighting sets the mood, so don’t just default to your built-in overhead lighting. Create an entirely new mood with tea lights, candles, or string lights.

2 – Have a good guest list. Remember, these friends will be interacting with each other throughout the course of the evening; so choose people who have similar interests or get along well. But a wildcard might be a fun twist!

3 – Be aware of anyone’s allergies. The last thing you want to do is have to rush someone to the ER.

4 – Keep it simple. No need to whip up the fanciest gourmet meals. Stick to what you know (and cook) best.

5 – Keep the music going. Remember what we said about mood.
