Hot Chocolate Recipes

It’s that time of year! You’ve got your coziest sweater on, your fuzziest socks, and the fire is roaring. The weather outside may be frightful, but we’re here to make sure your hot chocolate is delightful. Below, our three favorite recipes for this delicious drink:


Recipe via Tasty Yummies

Chai Hot Chocolate (makes 2 servings)


1 1/2 cups strongly brewed chai, hot
1/2 cup full fat organic unsweetened coconut milk, warmed
2 Medjool dates
2 tablespoons raw cacao (or regular baking cocoa)
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of sea salt


Using tea bags, brew your chai.
Heat the coconut milk until it’s steamy.
Add the hot chai, the warmed coconut milk, the dates, raw cacao (or cocoa), coconut oil, vanilla extra, and sea salt into a blender.
Blend for 1-2 minutes until creamy and smooth.
Taste and adjust sweetness to your own liking.
Pour and serve with a cinnamon stick or a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
Add marshmallows or whipped cream if desired. Enjoy!

Caramel Hot Chocolate (makes 2 servings)


2 cups milk, preferably whole
1/4 – 1/2 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup caramel sauce
Sweetened whipped cream or vanilla marshmallows
Grated chocolate for garnish, optional


Heat milk. Once warm, stir in chocolate chips and caramel.
Cook until chocolate has melted.
Allow to cool and serve warm.
Top with whipped cream or marshmallows.
Drizzle with one tablespoon of caramel sauce.
Garnish with grated chocolate if desired.

Cheesecake Hot Chocolate (makes 2 servings)


1 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ounces white chocolate, chopped
2 ounces cream cheese and cut into 16 pieces
Graham cracker crumbs and whipped cream, for garnish


Warm up milk until hot, but not boiling.
Turn heat down, then whisk in vanilla cream cheese until melted.
Whisk in white chocolate until melted.
Serve with whipped cream and cracker crumbs if desired.
