Beauty 101: The Maddi Bragg Look

7

We know there’s been a lot of hype surrounding Maddi Bragg’s hair and makeup from her festival look book. We don’t blame you. It was killer. But to satisfy everyone’s curiosity, we sat down with the makeup artist responsible for Maddi’s glam — Valerie Harvey of Mohawk Makeup for a few pointers.

EYES: I used Makeup Geek’s Foiled Eyeshadow in Untamed for Maddi’s lid and lower lash line. Then I intensified her crease using the rich red-toned brown in the Morphe Brushes Pro Palette #350. The look is completed with a winged eyeliner using MAC Liquidlast Liner in point black combined with Dodo Lashes Style #D203 and Hot Makeup Thick Thelma Voluminizing Mascara on the top and bottom lashes.

SKIN: Maddi’s skin is naturally flawless, but for that effortless, porcelain complexion, I looked to Nars New Velvet Matte Skin Tint in Finland. It was applied with a damp Beauty Blender sponge; then set with Black Opral Pressed Invisible Oil blocking powder. I used Nars Madly Blush (a longtime fave!) on the cheeks alongside a hint of Nars Hot Sand liquid Illuminizer. The latter was tapped high on the cheekbones to add radiance.

LIPS: With a desert landscape, the earthy neutral-beige tone of Kylie’s Lip Kit in Candy K was a natural choice.

HAIR: To add texture of Maddi’s locks, I used a flat iron to twist the hair away from the face and then added Big Sexy Hair Powder play at the roots to create volumized style. Next I lightly dusted the entire head with Big Sexy Hair Spray and Play Volumizing Hair Spray for a touchable hold.
